In the Spring of 2019, Spanish design house Loewe opened Casa Loewe, a new three-storey flagship store at 41-42 New Bond Street, in the heart of London’s high fashion district. The contemporary retail space is designed to feel like the townhouse of a sophisticated art collector populated not just with clothes, but also a growing collection of gallery-worthy objects.
The brand’s creative director Jonathan Anderson has been instrumental in the formation of this new space, overseeing every element, from the architectural design, to the textiles that run throughout the store.
Set inside a Grade II listed property, Casa Loewe opened its doors on 27thApril 2019 after a year of extensive renovation.
Henny Ltd were appointed by St Albans-based business T&B Contractors to carry out the installation of a high quality Spanish Campaspero limestone flooring to exacting standards throughout the fully refurbished building.
In preparation for the stone floor installation, it was necessary for Henny to prepare and build a supporting substrate which consisted of a raised timber floor consisting of two layers of 15mm Marine plywood over timber battens on first floor, and the laying of a self-levelling compound on ground floor.
To ensure an exemplary high-quality finish was obtained throughout, all the beige limestone flooring materials were prepared, cut, ground, and honed on site to ensure the creation of flush, seamless joints. This work was carried out on the ground floor, first floor, and a central cylindrical staircase. An internal display façade was also dressed in matching limestone cladding.
The flagship store of the Spanish fashion house was opened by critically acclaimed English Actress Jodie Comer.
